MotionWorks Physical Therapy is proud to offer a Urgent Headache Care program. Instead of going to the ER for narcotics that don't effectively abort your massive migraine or tension headache anyway, come to MotionWorks for a SAME DAY appointment with our physical therapist headache specialist to gain immediate headache relief that lasts for way longer than the time it takes you to get back home!
How do you know if coming to MotionWorks Urgent Headache Care program is the right choice instead of going to the ER? If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you should you go to the ER immediately for your headache to get further evaluation to rule out other non-headache related diagnoses:
1) Is this the first OR the worst headache of your life?
2) Do you have numbness or tingling on one side of your body?
3) Are you having problems with vision or speech?
4) Did all of your symptoms come on at the same time (i.e. vision issues, weakness, numbness, headache)?
5) Have you suffered recent head or neck trauma, such as suffering a concussion within the past week?
6) Is this atypical of the headaches you normally experience?
If you answered yes to any of the above listed questions, please go the nearest emergency room immediately. If you did not answer yes, and you are suffering from one of your fairly typical headaches that is just not going away, or if this is day 2 or 3 of the same headache, you are a perfect candidate for our new program. If you are not sure if you are a good candidate for the Urgent Headache Care Program, you can call for a phone consultation with our physical therapists to help you determine an appropriate next step.
Because the Urgent Headache Care program is a same-day, emergent physical therapy visit, it is not covered by any health insurance plans at this time, but it is eligible for your HSA or Flex Spend program. The fee for an urgent headache care visit is $250, and is due the day of the visit. Following your urgent care visit, our physical therapists will discuss some appropriate options for on-going resolution and prevention of future headaches based on your current headache type, frequency, duration, and success of your current treatment plan. One of these options is on-going physical therapy to reduce the frequency, intensity, and duration of headaches with hands-on, manual physical therapy in conjunction with an expansive, personalized treatment program that incorporates overall lifestyle changes that may range from diet to exercise, sleep hygeine, and more. This non-urgent physical therapy is a covered benefit under your health insurance plan, and appointments are available with our headache specialist, Dr. Jill Murphy, at MotionWorks.
For patients who have insurance benefits through Medicare and Medicaid, we are unable to see you in our Urgent Headache Care program due to Medicare and Medicaid program limitations. However, we look forward to helping you once you obtain your health insurance's required physician referral for physical therapy focused on reducing the frequency and intensity of your headaches on a non-urgent basis.
Call us for details, questions, and for your appointment if needed at 920-215-2050, because headaches do not arrive on schedule!
