What's on Your Bucket List?

Challenge Yourself

What a fabulous time to start a brand new year and a brand new day, then when even the weather appears to be starting over (at zero, of course!). What exciting plans to you have in store for 2014? Have you taken some time to appreciate the best times of 2013? Have you set any goals for your family, for your health, or for your career? Better yet, have you decided on your “bucket list” for 2014? What fun things do you have in store, because before you know it, 2015 will be here!

Bucket ListAt MotionWorks, we feel very blessed and privileged to have served more than double the number of patients in 2013 as we did in 2012. We also have some exciting plans for the New Year, which we will be rolling out this spring. This year we also have lots of high school and college students job shadowing, and we will even have several interns throughout the year who are studying physical therapy and exercise science. We also are continuing to support and work with some of our favorite people in the Fox Valley, including the Fox Cities Marathon, walking/running club Pacesetters, and the Neenah Summer Fun Run, and of course other active groups in the area.

While we can’t spill the beans just yet on our most exciting plans for the New Year, we are excited to offer both of our specialty fitness classes, Build a Better Body Basic and Advanced, twice a week for a ten week session starting January 13th. As always, we offer complementary injury screenings, which are perfect for people who have something that’s not quite right, but aren’t sure what they need. We also have self-pay services, such as one-on-one athletic performance and wellness coaching available, in any amount of sessions tailored to meet your specific needs.

Since it is the New Year, we challenge you to do something new. Better yet, try to do one thing new or different every week, or even every day. Talk to someone new, try a new activity, take a walk in the neighborhood, run outside in winter, or try a new food. Adding new challenges and activities to our daily lives help us not only get out of our “rut” and relieve boredom, but also helps stimulate our senses and our brain, actually reducing our future risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

So this year for 2014, resolve to carry on, be strong, and challenge yourself to rise to new heights! We’ll be walking right alongside you doing the same as well! When you do reach your goals or hit one of those items on your bucket list, take a pic and post it to our Facebook page or email us so we can post it to our Facebook page, and share your return to the joy of living!

Cheering you on,
Jill
